High expectations and great enthusiasm for learning is reflected in children of all abilities achieving well at Primrose Lane.

Department for Education Performance Tables provide detailed analysis of Primrose Lane's and other schools' performance against a variety of measures.

2023 end of Key Stage 2 outcomes 

74% of children achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths compared to 61% nationally.
19% of children achieved the higher standard in reading, writing and maths compared with 8% nationally. 

Reading 
90% of achieved the expected standard in reading compared to 74% nationally.
39% achieved the higher standard compared to 29% nationally.

Progress

The Department for Education measures progress from Key Stage 1 (KS1) to Key Stage 2 (KS2). Expected progress is zero, with anything above that being better than expected and negative numbers showing less than expected progress.

2022 end of Key Stage 2 outcomes

The government has not published Key Stage 2 data for the 2021-22 academic year. They have archived data from the 2018 to 2019 academic year because they recognise that the data from that year may no longer reflect current performance due to the disruptions in education caused by Covid.

65% of pupils achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics, higher than the national figure of 59%
19% of pupils achieved the high level of attainment in reading, writing and mathematics, compared to 7% nationally
Average scaled scores

Another measure used to analyse the assessment data is average scaled scores. ‘Scaled scores’ are the scores given to each pupil based on the test score, where 100 is the expected national standard (80 is the lowest possible, 120 is the highest). Again, Primrose Lane pupils faired better for each subject than the national average:

All our results include pupils who are disadvantaged or who have additional learning needs, eg special educational needs and disabilities, or other needs which may create barriers to learning, eg social, emotional and mental health issues. We are very pleased with the achievement of these particular pupils and how their individual success reflects on us as an inclusive school.
